Survey Description

Till samples were collected at 99 sites near the Highland Valley Copper Mine for geochemical, indicator mineral and grain size determinations to test the sampling method in an area of known mineralization.  At each site, two samples were collected: a large one (9 to 15 kg) for indicator mineral processing and a smaller one (1 to 2 kg) for geochemical analyses.  The following samples were collected:

Year Number of Samples
2011 10
2012 29
2015 67

The data are published in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 8119/British Columbia Geological Survey GeoFile 2016-11.
