TGI-4 Buried Porphyry Copper Project, British Columbia, 2010-2015
Project Description
The objective of this project is to develop new exploration methods using till geochemistry and mineralogy to search for Cu porphyry mineralisation concealed by glacial deposits. To accomplish this, the Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) in collaboration with the British Columbia Geological Survey (BCGS) carried out till sampling surveys near four Cu-porphyry deposits in British Columbia:
Deposit | Mineralisation | Year of Collection | Data Publication |
Highland Valley Copper | Cu-Mo | 2011, 2012, 2015 |
GSC OF 8038/ BCGS GeoFile 2016-10 BCGS GeoFile 2016-11/ GSC OF 8119 |
Gibraltar | Cu-Mo | 2011, 2012 |
GSC OF 8038/ BCGS GeoFile 2016-10 |
Mount Polley | Cu-Au-Ag | 2012, 2013 | |
Woodjam prospect | Cu-Mo-Au | 2011, 2012, 2013 |

Project Funding
The Targeted Geoscience Initiative 4 (TGI-4; 2010-2015) is a collaborative federal geoscience program that provides industry with the next generation of geoscience knowledge and innovative techniques, which will result in more effective targeting of buried mineral deposits.
