Survey Description


In 1981 and 1983, small (1 kg) till samples were collected around the Strange Lake deposit, Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador.  Samples were collected from fresh mudboils developed in till at depths between 0.1 and 0.7 m.

The samples were not analysed, but unprocessed dried splits (300g) of each of these samples were archived.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers part of NTS 24A/08 (Lac Dihourse) in the Strange Lake area, Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador.  It is bounded to the northwest by Lac Brisson.  The Quebec –Labrador border runs north-south through the centre of the study area.
