Survey Description


In the winter of 2012-2013, 5 boreholes were drilled by Mud Bay Drilling near Nanaimo, British Columbia.  Geochemial analyses by pXRF spectrometry were completed on sediments collected from 2 of the holes: Cochrane (130 m deep) and Spider (117 m deep).

The data are published in Geological Survey of Canda Open File 7651.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers a very small part of NTS 92F/07 (Horne Lake) on Vancouver Island, around two boreholes near Nanaimo, British Columbia.  The centre of the study area is located approximately 3 km southwest of the town of Qualicum Bay and 6 km northeast of Horne Lake.
