Survey Description
In 1994, till samples were collected around the Ranch Lake kimberlite, Northwest Territories within the first 21 km of the dispersal train as well as a few samples up-ice. Samples weighing 2-3 kg were collected for geochemical analysis from 108 sites. Samples weighing 10 kg were collected for kimberlite indicator mineral studies from 45 of the 108 sites.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers parts of NTS 76E/3, 4, 5, 6, the area around the Ranch Lake kimberlite in the Contwoyto Lake map area, Northwest Territories. It is bounded to the west by -112 W longitude. The southern edge of the study area is located approximately 16 km northwest of Yamba Lake.
