Survey Description
NGR stream sediment and water samples were collected over parts of NTS sheets 106D, E, L and 116A, B, G, H ,I in Central Yukon in 1976. Three separate regions were sampled. The area south of 65°15’ and west of -137° (map sheets 116A, B, G, H) was published in GSC Open File 418. The area south of 66° and east of -137° (map sheets 106D, E, 116A, H) was published in GSC Open File 419. The area north of 65°45’ (NTS 106E, 116H, I) was published in GSC Open File 420. Note that there is an overlap between Open Files 419 and 420 – some samples from the NE corner of 116H were published in both Open Files. Water samples from NTS 116A, B, H were analysed for zinc by the Geological Survey of Canada. These data have not been published in an open file.
The data were republished in the following GSC Open Files along with new data collected in 1977:

The samples were reanalysed and republished in GSC Open Files 2175 (supercedes OF 518), 2176 (supercedes OF 519) and 2365 (supercedes OF 520).
Samples from NTS 116H, 116I and 106L were re-analysed in 1995 and published as part of a Yukon compilation of geochemical data (Héon, 2003).
This survey was carried out using National Geochemical Reconnaissance (NGR) protocols.
