Survey Description

This survey is one of 3 surveys completed in the Leaf Rapids – Lynn Lake area between 1985 and 1988 that together represent the first infill lake surveys to be carried out in Manitoba.  They were designed to augment existing geochemical data in areas of high mineral potential.

In 1988, 5 pairs of lake sediment and water samples (10 samples in total) were collected adjacent to and south of the Johnson shear zone in part of NTS 64C.  The data are published in GSC Open File 1959.

This survey was carried out using National Geochemical Reconnaissance (NGR) protocols for the sampling, preparation and chemical analysis.  However, the NGR “block of 20” protocol for QA/QC was not followed.
