Survey Description

Peat and underlying mineral sediment were sub-sampled from cores collected at 3 sites (Kinosheo Lake bog, Detour Lake bogs #1 and #2) in northeastern Ontario in 1994.  The data are published in Geological Survey of Canada Bulletin 545.

Data Description:

Paper report.

Quantities Analysed:

Whole peat and <0.063 mm fraction of mineral sediment by ICP-AES after aqua regia for 20 elements and by CV-AAS for Hg.

Geochem Maps Available:

Depth profile plots show distribution of elements with increasing depth in peat deposit.

Other Analyses:

LOI; macrofossil and geochronological analysis.
