Survey Description

77 humus and 120 till samples were collected in the Timmins-Kamiskotia area, northeastern Ontario in 1995 and 1996.  The humus samples were collected in the southern half of the study area and the till samples across the whole area.  The data are published in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 3675.

Data Description:

Paper report; digital files on diskette.

Quantities Analysed:

<0.063 mm fraction of till by ICP-AES for 32 elements; <1.7 mm heavy mineral (non-ferromagnetic) fraction of till by INAA for 35 elements and by ICP-ES after aqua regia digestion for 7 elements; <1.7 mm fraction of humus by ICP-AES after aqua regia for 33 elements.

Geochem Maps Available:

Proportional symbol maps show dispersal of elements in humus and till.

Other Analyses:

Heavy mineral concentrate for gold grain counts; grain size (<2.0 mm), and carbonate (<0.063 mm (Chittick)); pebble lithologies.
