Survey Description
Approximately 400 till samples were collected between 1996 and 1999 in the Nechako River map area, central British Columbia. The data from the 1996 and 1997 field seasons are published in Geological Survey of Canada Open File 3687.
These data can also be found as part of a compilation in GSC Open File 2270 which also publishes data for samples collected in 1998 and 1999 in NTS 93K (n=6) and 93N (n=17).
Data Description:
Paper maps with side notes; data on diskette.
Quantities Analysed:
<0.063 mm fraction by INAA for 35 elements; by ICP-ES after aqua regia digestion for 32 elements; <0.002 mm fraction by ICP-ES after aqua regia digestion for 32 elements and by CV-AAS for Hg.
Geochem Maps Available:
Proportional dot maps showing dispersal of 12 metals.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers part of NTS 93F, the Nechako River map sheet in central British Columbia. It lies east of Tweedsmuir Provincial Park. The centre of the study area is approximately 145 km west-southwest of the city of Prince George.

Covers a small part of NTS 93F/6 (Natalkuz Lake) and a sliver of 93F/3 (Fawnie Creek) in the Nechako area, south of the Interior Plateau, central British Columbia. It is bounded to the south by 53.25°N latitude and is located approximately 91 km south of Highway 16 and 5 km south of Capoose Lake.

Covers part of NTS 93N/11 (Kwanika Creek) in central British Columbia, south of Swannell Range and east of Hogem Range, along part of Kwanika Creek.

Covers parts of NTS 93K (Fort Fraser) and 93N (Manson River) in central British Columbia. Tezzeron and Tchentlo lakes are found in the southern and northern parts of the study area respectively. The southern part of the study area is located approximately 20 km northwest of the town of Fort Fraser.
