Survey Description
138 till and 40 glaciofluvial sand samples were collected in the Red Lake-Woman Lake area, northwestern Ontario in 1991. The data are published in GSC Open File 2583.
Data Description:
Paper report with one diskette (Excel 3.0).
Quantities Analysed:
<0.063 mm fraction by ICP-AES after HCl-HNO3 digestion for 28 elements and by fire assay/DCP after nitric-aqua regia digestion for Au, Pt, and Pd. Non-magnetic heavy minerals by INAA for gold and 34 elements.
Geochem Maps Available:
Proportional symbol maps showing dispersal of elements, selected heavy minerals and gold grains.
Other Analyses:
Pebble lithologies (5.6-16 mm fraction); heavy mineral concentrate for UV analysis, heavy mineral point counts of the >0.25 mm fraction of non-magnetic heavy minerals; heavy mineral counts (0.063 mm-0.250 mm fraction).
In 1992 a further 278 till samples were collected. The data from both field seasons are published in GSC Open File 3038.
