Survey Description
520 till samples were collected in the Clyde Forks – Westport area, Ontario in 1986-1988. The data are published in GSC Open File 2274. This open file also republishes data for 400 archived samples from NTS 31C/10 (Tichborne) and 31F/1 (Carleton Place) previously published in GSC Open File 947. Some data from OF 2274 has been included in GSC Open File 3175, a digital compilation of data from OFs 1792, 947 and part of 2274. Some of the data from OF 2274 have also been released as part of a big Ontario-Quebec summary and interpretation in GSC Bulletin 463.
Data Description:
Paper report; digital data on diskette.
Quantities Analysed:
<0.002 mm fraction by AAS after hot nitric-hydrochloric digestion for 12 elements; by colourimetry for As, and by fluorometry for U. <0.063 mm fraction by fire assay/AAS after hot nitric-hydrochloric digestion for Au, Pt, and Pd.
Geochem Maps Available:
Proportional symbol maps show dispersal of selected elements.
Other Analyses:
Pebble lithologies; grain size; carbonate (<0.063 mm by LECO).
