Survey Description


In 1992, a drilling program was carried out on Asarco/Freewest’s Benoît East property, Benoist Township, Abitibi East, northern Quebec.  (Note: there is a discrepancy in the way the property and township are named).

The following samples were collected:

O horizon soil samples every 25 m on 6 lines Analysed for Au, Zn, Cu, Pb, Ag and As
63 overburden drill holes Till samples from a hole on line 1E have >10,000 ppb

 

The data are published in GM 51405, a report submitted to the Government of Quebec.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers a small part of NTS 32F/08 (Lac Pusticamica) in Benoist Township, Abitibi East, northern Quebec.  The centre of the study area is located approximately 7 km southeast of Lac Waswanipi and approximately 5 km northwest of Lac Pusticamica as well as 15 km southwest of the town of Desmaraisville.  Highway 113 crosses the study area.
