Survey Description
In July and August 1988, 149 reverse circulation drill holes were completed on 3 gold properties of Minnova Inc. (Wetjack, Lesueur, Boyvinet) in the Lac Shortt area of the Abitibi greenstone belt, northwestern Quebec. From the drilling program, 678 overburden and 148 bedrock chip samples were collected.
The overburden samples (mostly Chibougamau Till) were processed for heavy minerals. The concentrates were examined for gold, and then analyzed by Bondar-Clegg for Au, As, Cu, Zn and Ag. The bedrock chips underwent whole rock and trace element analyses (Au, As, Cu, Zn, Ag and Zr).
The data are published in GM 48504, a report submitted to the Government of Quebec.
