Survey Description


In June 1987, humic soils were collected in the Cadillac area in Abitibi, northwestern Quebec.  The Ah and Oh horizons were sampled every 50 m on a square grid at approximately 285 sites.  Two 2 samples were collected at each site: one weighing 500 g for geochemical analysis and one weighing 10 g for bacteriological analysis.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers a very small part of the northwest corner of NTS 32D/01 (Malartic) in the Abitibi region.  It is located a few kilometres west of the town of Cadillac, north of Highway 117 and approximately 1.7 km west of the junction of Highway 395.
