Survey Description


In 1994, lake sediment samples were collected in the Parent area, Quebec.  In all, 2637 samples were collected on a 3x3 km grid, averaging 1 sample per 9 km2.

The samples were analysed for 35 elements by ICP-ES and 9 elements by INAA.

The data are published in Ministère des Ressources naturelles MB 96-42.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers most of NTS 31O (Lac Kempt) and parts of 31P (La Tuque), 32A (Roberval), 32B (Réservoir Gouin) and 32C (Senneterre) in the Parent region, Quebec.  The centre of the study area is located approximately 271 km north-northwest of Montreal and 190 km southwest of Lac Saint-Jean.
