Survey Description

In 1983, a lake sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Rivière Caniapiscau area, Quebec.  The area covers approximately 49700 km2.  A total of 3823 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 13 km2.

Samples were analyzed for Ag, Al, As, B, Ba, Be, Ca, Cd, Ce, Co, Cr, Cu, Eu, F, Fe, Hg, K, La, Li, Mg, Mn, Mo, Na, Ni, P, Pb, Sc, Sm, Sr, Th, Ti, U, V, Y, Zn, pH and loss on ignition.

The data are published in Open File DP 86-23, Department of Energy and Resources, 1986.

Data from this survey are part of a compilation of lake sediments from Quebec and Labrador published in GSC Open File 8348 (geochemical atlas).
