Survey Description


In 1985-1986, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the St-Camille-de-Bellechasse and St-Pamphile area, Quebec.  The area covers 540 km 2.  A total of 715 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 0.8 km 2.  Samples (spaced every 500 m) were collected on a strip of approximately 9 km wide and 60 km long between the two villages.

The <177 micron fraction was analyzed for As, Au, Co, Cu, Fe, Hg, Mn, Mo, Ni, Pb, U, Zn and loss on ignition.

The data are published in Open File DP 88-16, Department of Energy and Resources, 1989.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 21K/12 (Saint-Magloire), /13 (Saint-Pamphile) and 21L/9 (Saint-Magloire), /16 (Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire).  The Saint-Camille-de-Bellechasse and Saint-Pamphile area is situated in the Chaudières-Appalaches region.  It is bounded by latitudes 46°30' and 47° and longitudes 69°41' and 70°30'.
