Survey Description


During the summers of 1982 to 1984, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the St-Joseph-de-Beauce and Ste-Sabine-de-Bellechasse area, Quebec.  The area covers 927 km 2.  A total of 1327 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 0.7 km 2.  Samples were analyzed for Cu, Zn, Pb, Ni, Co, Mn, Fe, As, Hg, U, Mo, Ag, Au and loss on ignition.

The data are published in Open File MB 87-22, Department of Energy and Resources, 1987.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 21L/2 (Beauceville), /7 (Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce), /8 (Sainte-Justine).  The Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce and Sainte-Sabine-de-Bellechasse area is situated in the Chaudières-Appalaches region.  It is bounded by latitudes 46°03'45" and 46°45' and longitudes 70°10' and 71°.
