Survey Description


During the summers of 1978 and 1982, a soil sampling survey was conducted in the Amos area, Quebec.  The area covers 1000 km2.  A total of 247 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 4.0 km2.  Samples were analyzed for:

1978: paper chromatography

1982: fluorimetry

Ag, As, Co, Cu, Hg, Li, Mn, Mo, Ni, Pb, Sn, Zn   atomic absorption (AAS)

 

The data are published in Open File MB 86-68, Department of Energy and Resources, 1986.

This survey is part of a compilation of geochemical surveys published in DV 87-22.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers part of NTS 32D/9 (Amos).  The Amos area is situated in the Abitibi region.  It is bounded by latitudes 48°30' and 48°45' and longitudes 78° and 78°30'.
