Survey Description


During the summer of 1981, a soil sampling survey was conducted in the St-Polycarpe area, Quebec.  The area covers 225 km2.  A total of 144 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 1.8 km2.  Samples were analyzed for:

 

Element Dissolution Technique
Loss on ignition (LOI)    
U   fluorimetry
Ag, Al, B, Ba, Be, Ca, Cd, Ce, Co, Cr, Cu, Eu, Fe, K, La, Li, Mg, Mn, Mo, Na, Ni, P, Pb, Sc, Sm, Sr, Th, Ti, V, Y, Zn   inductively coupled plasma emission (ICP-ES)
As, Hg   atomic absorption (AAS)

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers part of NTS 31G/1 (Huntingdon), /8 (Vaudreuil).  The Saint-Polycarpe area is situated in Soulanges county, Montérégie region.  It is bounded by latitudes 45°14'39" and 45°22'25" and longitudes 74°14'07" and 74°28'19".
