Survey Description


During the summer of 1979, a soil sampling survey was conducted in the Barville area, Quebec.  The area covers 0.2 km2.  A total of 205 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 0.001 km2.  Samples were analyzed for:

 

Element Dissolution Technique
Loss on ignition (LOI)    
U   paper chromatography
Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Co, Mn, Mo, Li, Hg, As, Fe   atomic absorption (AAS)

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers part of NTS 32C/12 (Landrienne).  The Barville area is situated in the Abitibi region.  It is located 3.5 km east of Barville and 10 km north of Barraute.  It is bounded by latitudes 48°30'37" and 48°31'03" and longitudes 77°38'46" and 77°38'57".
