Survey Description


During the summer of 1983, a soil sampling survey was conducted in the Lac La Lande and Lac Douay area, Quebec.  The area covers 100 km2.  A total of 75 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 1.3 km2.  Samples were analyzed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Co, Ag, Mn, Mo, Al, Ba, B, Be, Ca, Cd, Ce, Cr, Eu, Fe, K, La, Li, Mg, Na, P, Sc, Sm, Sr, Th, Ti, V, Y (atomic absorption) and loss on ignition.

The data are published in Open File MB 85-54, Department of Energy and Resources, 1985.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers part of NTS 24F/3 (Lac La Lande).  The Lac La Lande area is situated in the Nord-du-Québec region.  It is bounded by latitudes 57°12' and 57°15' and longitudes 69°07' and 69°15'.

  • Covers part of NTS 24F/2 (Lac Jogues), /3 (Lac La Lande).  The Lac La Lande area is situated in the Nord-du-Québec region.  It is bounded by latitudes 57°06' and 57°10' and longitudes 68°56' and 69°07'.

  • Covers part of NTS 24C/16 (Lac Marcel).  The Lac Douay area is situated in the Nord-du-Québec region.  It is bounded by latitudes 56°56' and 56°59' and longitudes 68°24' and 68°30'.
