Survey Description


During the summer of 1979, a soil sampling survey was conducted in the Mobrun deposit, Quebec.  The area covers 0.6 km2.  A total of 290 samples taken from horizon Oh, H or Ah, were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 0.002 km2.  Sampling was done by foot, at every 100 m.  Samples were analyzed for Cu, Pb, Zn Ni, Co, Mn, U, Li, Mo, Hg, As and loss on ignition.

The data are published in Open File MB 84-16, Department of Energy and Resources, 1984.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers part of NTS 32D/10 (Taschereau).  The Mobrun deposit is situated in Dufresney county, Abitibi.  Its center is located 20 km northeast of Rouyn.  It is bounded by latitudes 48°38' and 48°40' and longitudes 78°49' and 78°51'.
