Survey Description


In 1982, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Lac Mistamisk and Rivière Romanet area, Quebec.  The area covers 130 km2.  A total of 143 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 0.9 km2. Samples were analyzed for:

 

Element Dissolution Technique
Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Co, Mn, Ag, Mo, Li, Sn

HNO3

atomic absorption (AAS)
Loss on ignition (LOI)    
U   paper chromatography

 

The data are published in Open File MB 84-10, Department of Energy and Resources, 1984.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers parts of NTS 24B/5 (Lac Veillard) and 24C/8 (Lac Mistamisk).  The Lac Mistamisk and Rivière Romanet area is situated in the Labrador Trough.  It is bounded by latitudes 56°20' and 56°30' and longitudes 67°50' and 68°15'.
