Survey Description


In 1973, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Matane-Matapédia area, Quebec.  The area covers 150 km2.  A total of 600 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 0.4 km2.  Samples were analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Co, Ni, Mn, Mo, Ag and U.

The data are published in Open File DV 83-09, Department of Energy and Resources, 1984.  Data published in Open File DP-325 are also included in this file.  These data were released by the University of Quebec in Rimouski, 1975.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 22B/12 (Sayabec), /13 (Matane).  The Matane-Matapédia area is situated in the Gaspé region.  It includes the cities of Baie-des-Sables, Matane and La Rédemption.  It is bounded by latitudes 48°30' and 48°51' and longitudes 67°30' and 68°.
