Survey Description
During the summer of 1981, a soil sampling survey was conducted by the Department (500 samples) and the company Amtec Inc. (1328 samples). The area covers 40 km2. Samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 0.02 km2. Most of the samples were taken from horizon B. In agricultural areas, samples were collected from horizons A and B (undisturbed soil); and sometimes from horizon C.
Samples were analysed for Ba, Cu, Ag, Mn, Pb, Zn (aqua-regia/atomic absorption) and F (specific electrode).
The data are published in Open File MM 83-19, Department of Energy and Resources, 1984.
