Survey Description


During the summers of 1981 and 1982, a soil sampling survey was conducted in the Lac Troïlus area, Quebec.  The area covers 240 km2.  A total of 96 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 2.5 km2. These samples were analysed for:

Ag, Al, B, Ba, Be, Ca, Cd, Ce, Co, Cr, Cu, Eu, Fe, K, La, Li, Mg, Mn, Mo, Na, Ni, P, Pb, Sc, Sm, Sr, Th, Ti, V, Y, Zn, Hg   atomic absorption
Loss on ignition (LOI)    
U   paper chromatography

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 32J/15 (Lac Troilus).  The Lac Troilus area is situated in the Nord-du-Québec region.  It is bounded by latitudes 50°49' and 51° and longitudes 74°30' and 74°43'.
