Survey Description


In 1977, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Labrador Trough area, Quebec.  The area covers 1500 km2.  A total of 55 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 27.3 km2.  These samples were analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Co, Mn, Mo, U.

The data are published in Open File DPV-666, Department of Natural Resources, 1979.  This survey is the second part of work done in the Labrador Trough area.  Results of the first part are published in Open File DPV-567.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 23M/15 (Lac Casgrain), /16 (Lac Chaulieu), 24B/6 (Lac Duhamel), 24C/14 (Lac de la Moraine), /15 (Fort-Mackenzie) and 24D/8 (Lac Garault). This survey is located in the Labrador Trough. It includes Lac Snowball, Lac Duhamel, Lac Bouteille and Rivière Caniapiscau. It is bounded by latitudes 55°53' and 57°05' and longitudes 67°13' and 70°39'.
