Survey Description


During the summer of 1976, A stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the central and northern parts of the Labrador Trough, Quebec.  The area covers 1500 km2.  A total of 79 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 19.0 km2.  These samples were analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Co, Mn, Mo, Ag, Sn, U, As, Ba, Li, Th and loss on ignition.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 24C (Lac Cambrien), /F (Lac Herodier), the southern half of 24K (Kuujjuaq), the southern half of 24L (Lac Dufreboy), 24D/1 (Lac Forcan), /8 (Lac Garault), /9 (Lac Coursolles), /16 (Lac Montgenault) and 24E/1 (Lac Aigneau), /8 (Lac Rigouville), /9 (Colline Gossen), /16 (Lac Napier). This survey is located in the central and northern parts of the Labrador Trough. It includes Lac Mistamisk, Fort McKenzie, Lac La Lande, Lac Garigue, Lac Cambrien and Lac Forbes. It is bounded by latitudes 56° and 58°30' and longitudes 68° and 70°15'.
