Survey Description
During the summer of 1976, a groundwater sampling survey was conducted in the Acton Vale area, Quebec. The area covers 180 km2. A total of 264 samples were collected from domestic wells in the area, at an average density of 1 sample per 0.7 km2. These samples were analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Ni, Co, Mn, As, Cd, Mo, Fe, Ca, Mg, Na, Li, K (atomic absorption), F by selective electrode and pH.
The data are published in Open File DPV-566, Department of Natural Resources, 1978.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers NTS 31H/10 (Saint-Hyacinthe). The Acton Vale region is located in the Montérégie area, 80 km east of Montreal. It is bounded by latitudes 45°36'30"and 45°42'30"and longitudes 72°30' and 72°44'30".
