Survey Description


Between 1966 and 1967, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Lac Roberts and Lac des Chefs area, Quebec.  The area covers 2500 km2. A total of 408 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 6.1 km2 and analysed for:

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 25D/7 (Mcgill Lake), /8 (Roberts Lake), /9 (Lac Tasiruluk), /10 (Lac Nagvaraaluk), /15 (Lac Latourette), /16 (Lac Brochin), 25C/4 (Kyak Bay), and 25D/1 (Kangirsuk). The Lac Roberts area is located at about 160 miles northwest of Fort-Chimo, Nouveau-Québec Territory. It is bounded by latitudes 60°15' and 60°35' and longitudes 70° and 70°38'30".

  • Covers NTS 25C/4 (Kyak Bay) and 25D/1 (Kangirsuk). The Lac des Chefs area is located in Nouveau-Québec Territory and Duplessis county. It is bounded by latitudes 60° and 60°15' and longitudes 69°46' and 70°24'.
