Survey Description


In 1968, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the St-Ambroise and Alex rivers region, Quebec.  The area covers 700 km2.  A total of 193 samples were collected in the Alex river area and 99 samples in the St-Ambroise river area, at an average density of 1 sample per 2.4 km2 and analysed for:

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 22D/13 (west) (Rivière Alex). The Rivière Alex area is situated in the Chicoutimi county. It is bounded by latitudes 48°45' and 48°58'30" and longitudes 71°45' and 72°.

  • Covers part of 22D/13 (Rivière Alex). The Saint-Ambroise area is situated in the Chicoutimi county. It is bounded by latitudes 48°30' and 48°39' and longitudes 71°01' and 71°12'.
