Survey Description


In 1965, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the River Savane region, Quebec.  The area covers 10000 km2.  A total of 271 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 50.8 km2 and analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Mo and U.

The data are published in geological report RG-146, Department of Natural Resources, 1971.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 22M/3 (Lac Allenou), /4 (Lac Palairet), /5 (Lac des Deux Milles), /6 (Lac Natipi), /11 (Lac Courtois), /12 (Lac l'Epinay), /13 (Lac Indicateur), /14 (Rivière Epervanche) The Rivière Savane area is bounded by latitudes 51° and 52° and longitudes 71° and 71°55'. Two thirds of the area is in Mistassini territory, but the eastern portion includes the northern parts of Roberval and Chicoutimi counties.
