Survey Description


In 1969, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Kégashka area, Quebec.  The area covers 1000 km2.  A total of 246 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 4.1 km2 and analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Mo, Ni, Co, U, W, Mn, Sn, Sb, Ag, Au.

The data are published in preliminary report RP-597, Department of Natural Resources, Quebec, 1970.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 12K/3 (Kegaska), /6 (Lac Kegaska).  The Kegaska area lies between 50°30'N latitude and the north shore of the St. Lawrence River and 61°W and 61°30'W longitude.  It includes the small north shore port of Kegaska and the hamlet of Musquaro.  It also includes all or part of the following townships: Kegaska, Musquaro, Bissot, 881, 981, 982, 983, 1081, 1082 and 1083.
