Survey Description


In 1968, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Verneuil township area, Quebec.  The area covers 70 km2.  A total of 59 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 1.2 km2 and analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Mo, Ni, Co, U, W, Mn, Sn, Ag and Au.

The data are published in preliminary report RP-591, Department of Natural Resources, Quebec, 1970.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 32F/2 (Lac Quévillon).  The Verneuil township area is bounded by 49°30'N and 49°04'N latitude and 76°45'W and 76°52'W longitude.  The area is east of Lac Quévillon and approximately 5 miles east of Lebel-sur-Quévillon.  This town is 53 miles north of Senneterre along the Senneterre-Chibougamau highway.
