Survey Description


In 1966-1967, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the south-half of Obalski township, Quebec.  The area covers 130 km 2.  A total of 159 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 0.8 km 2 and analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Mo, Ni and U.

The data are published in preliminary report RP-585, Department of Natural Resources, Quebec, 1970.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 32G/16 (Chibougamau).  The south half of Obalski township straddles the south end of Lac Chibougamau.  The road linking Saint-Félicien and Chibougamau crosses the western part of the area, and Rivière Chibougamau constitutes another access from the discharge of Lac Doré.  The eastern part can be reached by following Queylus, Dulieux and inlet bays of Lac Chibougamau.
