Survey Description


In 1967, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Lac Pluto area, Dubuc and Roberval counties and Mistassini Territory, Quebec.  The area covers 1900 km2.  A total of 359 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 5.3 km2 and analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Mo, Ni and U.

The data are published in preliminary report RP-584, Department of Natural Resources, Quebec, 1970.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 23D/3 (Lac Gaschet), /6 (Lac Manet).  The Lac Pluto area consists of four quadrangles lying between 52°N and 52°26'N latitude and 71°W and 71°30'W longitude.  Lac Pluto, in the center of the area, is 145 miles northwest of Manicouagan 5, and 140 miles west of Gagnon.
