Survey Description


In 1968, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Natashquan area, Quebec.  The area covers 1000 km2.  A total of 40 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 25 km2 and analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn, Mo, Ni, Co, U, Mn, Ag, Sn, Au, Sb and W.

The data are published in preliminary report RP-582, Department of Natural Resources, Quebec, 1970.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 12K/4 (Natashquan), /5 (Lac Paimport).  The Natashquan area lies between 61°30'W and 61°55'W longitude.  It is bounded on the north by the 50°30'N parallel and on the south by the north shore of the St. Lawrence, where the small port town of Natashquan is located.  The area includes all or parts of the following townships: Natashquan, Duval, Kegashka, 88-, 980, 1080, 881, 981 and 1081.
