Survey Description


In 1964-1965, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Lac à l'Ours area, Quebec.  The area covers 1000 km2.  A total of 144 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 6.9 km2 and analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn and Mo.

The data are published in preliminary report RP-559, Department of Natural Resources, Quebec, 1967.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 12L/6 (Lac à l'Ours).  The Lac de l'Ours area is situated about 30 miles east-northeast of Havre-Saint-Pierre on the Gulf of St.  Lawrence.  The area is bounded by the north shore of the St. Lawrence River.
