Survey Description


In 1965, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Baskatong reservoir area, Labelle and Montcalm counties, Quebec.  The area covers 550 km2.  A total of 106 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 5.2 km2 and analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn and Mo.

The data are published in preliminary report RP-558, Department of Natural Resources, Quebec 1966.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 31J/13 (Baskatong Reservoir) east.  The Baskatong Reservoir area is 16 miles north-northwest of Mont-Laurier and 5 miles northwest of Ferme Neuve.  It includes parts of Major and Fontbrune townships in Labelle county and part of Pau township in Montcalm county.
