Survey Description


In 1965, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Anse Saint-Jean area, Chicoutimi and Charlevoix counties, Quebec.  The area covers 500 km2.  A total of 300 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 1.6 km2 and analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn and Mo.

The data are published in preliminary report RP-556, Department of Natural Resources, Quebec, 1967.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 23D/1 (La Daguilhe) east.  The L'Anse-Saint-Jean area takes its name from the village of L'Anse-Saint-Jean on the shore of Saguenay River and in the northwestern part of the area.  The northern border of the area coincides roughly with the south shore of Saguenay River.
