Survey Description


In 1964, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Malbaie area, Quebec.  The area covers 780 km2.  A total of 404 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 1.9 km2 and analysed for Cu, Pb, Zn and Mo.

The data are published in preliminary report RP-544, Department of Natural Resources, 1966.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 22M/9 (Lac Aubin-Tellier), /16 (Lac Maublant) east.  The La Malbaie area is located on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River.  The small port of La Malbaie is situated in the southern part of the area, about 80 miles downstream from Québec City.
