Survey Description


In 1964, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Lac Otelnuk area, New-Quebec Territory.  The area covers 850 km 2.  A total of 350 samples were collected along small rivers at an average density of 1 sample per 2.4 km 2 and analysed for Cu, Zn, Pb and Mo.

The data are published in preliminary report RP-532, Department of Natural Resources, Quebec, 1965.  This survey is also part of a compilation published in 1978, called RG-193.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 24C/1 (Lac Otelnuk).  The Lac Otelnuk area is 110 miles north-northwest of Schefferville in central Nouveau-Québec.  It is bounded by 56°N and 56°15'N latitude, and by 68°W and 68°30'W longitude, respectively.
