Survey Description
During the years of 1971 to 1973, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Matapédia county, Quebec. The area covers 1200 km2. A total of approximately 3550 samples were collected at 1500 feet intervals at an average density of 1 sample per 0.3 km2, along creeks and rivers, and analysed for Cu, Zn, Pb, Ni, Co, Sn, Ag and Au (atomic absorption technique).
The data are published in Open File DP-325, Department of Natural Resources, Quebec, 1975.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers NTS 22B/5 (Lac-Humqui), /11 (St-Jean-Baptiste-Vianney), /12 (Sayabec). It is bounded to the north by the St. Lawrence River, south of Lac Matapédia, east of the Matapédia county line and west of the Rivière Métis. It includes the cities of Sayabec and Saint-Ulric.
