Survey Description


In 1972, a stream sediment sampling survey was conducted in the Mont Albert area, Quebec.  The area covers 1300 km2.  A total of 2000 samples were collected at an average density of 1 sample per 0.4 km2 and analysed for:

 

Element Dissolution Technique
Cu, Zn, Pb, Ni, Co

HNO3

atomic absorption (AAS)
U   paper chromatography

 

The data are published in Open File ES-19, Department of Natural Resources, 1975.  The listing of field data, analytical results and sampling location are also published in Open File DP-303, Department of Natural Resources, 1975.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

  • Covers NTS 22G/1 (Ste-Anne-des-Monts), 22B/16 (Mont Albert).  It is located 14 miles south of the town of Sainte-Anne-des-Monts and the center of the survey is in Mont Albert.
