Survey Description
In June 1987, a lake sediment and water survey was carried out in an area of 500 km2 centred on Goudreau Lake, northern Ontario.
Two sediment core samples and a 1L water sample were collected from 358 lakes and ponds at an average density of one sample per 1.4 km2.
The cores were extruded to provide a pre-Ambrosia subsample (below 18 cm in the core) and a post-Ambrosia subsample (from the 0 to 10 cm section of the core).
The study is described in Ontario Geological Survey Miscellaneous Paper MP137 (Summary of Field Work and Other Activities 1987).
Data from this survey are compiled in the Herman Lake regional geochemical map sheet, OGS Map M80804.
