Survey Description
In July 1986, lake sediment and water samples were collected in a 20x20 km area centred on Opapimiskan Lake, northern Ontario. Approximately 800 mL of sediment and 1L of water were collected from 103 sites.
The study is described in Ontario Geological Survey Miscellaneous Paper MP132 (Summary of Field Work and Other Activities 1986).

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers most of NTS 53B/09 (Opapimiskan Lake) in northwestern Ontario. Skinner, Gina and Wapuskeya lakes are found in the northern part of the study area. Opapimiskan Lake, Zeemel Lake and the Musselwhite Mine (opened 1997) are found in the southern part of the study area.
