Survey Description
28 humus, 28 B-horizon soil and 18 till samples were collected on the Buck Lake property in 2000. Samples were collected along 2 separate lines. One line was parallel to ice flow direction with samples collected at 25 m intervals up and down-ice of known mineralization. The data are published in Ontario Geological Survey Open File Report 6054.

Paper report with data lists. Digital data available separately as MRD-71 (Miscellaneous Release-Data 71).
Quantities Analysed:
<0.177 mm fraction of humus and <0.063 mm fraction of till by ICP-AES for 25 elements; by ICP-AES-FA for Au, Pd, and Pt; and ICP-MS for 51 elements.
Geochem Maps Available:
Proportional symbol maps show dispersal of selected elements.
Other Analyses:
Heavy mineral concentrate from 77 till samples for gold grain counts and metamorphic or magmatic massive sulphide and kimberlite indicator minerals; pebble lithologies for 77 till samples.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers the Buck Lake property, located approximately 25 km west of the Lac des Iles palladium mine in northwestern Ontario on NTS 52H/4 (Lac des Iles). It is located just north of Buck Lake.
