Survey Description
50 humus, 45 B-horizon soil, 41 till and 6 vegetation samples were collected on the Haines Township property in 2000. Samples were collected along 5 separate lines and spaced at 25 m intervals. The data are published in Ontario Geological Survey Open File Report 6054.
Data Description:
Paper report with data lists. Digital data available separately as MRD-71 (Miscellaneous Release-Data 71).
Quantities Analysed:
<0.177 mm fraction of humus and <0.063 mm fraction of till by ICP-AES for 25 elements; by ICP-AES-FA for Au, Pd, and Pt; and ICP-MS for 51 elements.
Geochem Maps Available:
Proportional symbol maps show dispersal of selected elements.
Other Analyses:
Heavy mineral concentrate from 77 till samples for gold grain counts and metamorphic or magmatic massive sulphide and kimberlite indicator minerals; pebble lithologies for 77 till samples.

The geographic extent of the survey is defined by the following polygons:

Covers the Haines Township property, located approximately 8 km northwest of the former Shebandowan Mine site in northwestern Ontario on NTS 52B/9 (Shebandowan). It is located approximately 4 km south of the Trans-Canada Highway.
